Yes, the sense of powerlessness, especially as an observer… feeling like a select few determine events which shall have consequences for millions. It’s a nightmare reality.
Though I do also feel that so many people are doing what they can, in their own ways, some through protest, some through finances, some through deep discussions, community engagement, petitions, supporting those with platform etc. and that counts. People *are* good. And I feel especially hopeful when I see people directly affected who are able to push for peace and reconciliation. They are true leaders.
This is the first thing I've read that completely represents me. I have also been wondering how many Jews some people know, probably not many, given we are 0.5%!

And it doesn’t take much for my thoughts to turn to the place you never want them to. The unbearable equivalence. The what-ifs. The ‘If this was my child’.” - I felt sick with you reading this. I think when we feel paralysed by the pain we see in the world the only thing we can do is channel our energy into our passions and skills because that’s how we know to serve others. That’s exactly what you’ve done here Amy x
